Agapanthus are a remarkably hardy plant which can survive under extreme conditions. The plant will grow in shade with limited flowering but constant green foliage. The plants thrive in hot sunny conditions with limited water and in most types of soil.
Planting Maintenance only requires the root system to be covered to the plant stem. Planting too deeply should be avoided.
Watering should be carried out at planting and during first summer. Subsequently winter rains in most areas should be sufficient.
Fertilize with animal manures and blood and bone. Other standard fertilisers can be used, but we suggest that you read the label to be sure.
Spacing is recommended at half a meter for large plants and a third of a meter for smaller plants. Various patterns can be adopted where space permits.
Flower Removal is recommended at the completion of the season.
